Lexie's First Day of School

Abby
Last night we started our first of ten weeks with Scotch Pines Dog Training for Lexie. Since I had to take Abby through by myself when she was 6 months, Justin gets to take Lexie. We decided as long as one of us had to go I would take Abby through the class again, although I’m sure I need the refresher more than she does. At the end of ten weeks Lexie will be able to…
  • Heel
  • Sit
  • Down
  • Stay (which is REALLY hard for beagles!!)
  • Come
  • Finish
  • Stand for Exam
  • Be Reliable off Leash

Justin’s goal this time is to graduate top in the class. I think he’s feeling pretty confident since we have been through before, however, the fact that Lexie is a beagle may be his biggest obstacle. Beagles rank 72 out of 79 breeds for ease of training. The hardest part about the training is finding 40 minutes a day, split into 10 minute sections, to work with the girls.

Wedding Bells are Ringing

Tim and Jen went to Coeur d'Alene today to get married at the Hitching Post. It was just the two of them, and our cousin Chris and Tosha. Tosha was great and sent the pictures right away. So, here they are....

A little Josh Groban Trivia

Did you know Josh Groban's first concert EVER was in BOISE??? Amazing huh??

Justin and I were pretty bummed when we found out mom bought tickets to Josh Groban. We decided we didn't need to go, and got over it slowly. Then I saw on Kara's blog that she not only got tickets to Josh, but also got to TOUCH Josh. That was it....I was now officially jealous. I sulked for a couple of days, and then to my surprise on August 13th, an email appeared at work that our advertising and promotions department had tickets. The instructions were to email the office manager if you wanted in on the drawing. I thought "yes, this is my chance." So I sent the email and waited on pins and needles. The good news arrived a few days later, I had won two tickets. So not only did we end up getting to see the concert....our tickets were FREE!!! The concert was unbelievable, the stage was awesome, and the sound was perfect. Next time he comes to town, I'm splurging and buying tickets the first day they come available.

San Francisco

My mom and I decided it was time to get away for the weekend. So we took a couple of days off work and flew to San Francisco. Justin was a little bummed having to stay behind and work, but promised not to get jealous. We stayed with my Uncle Bob and Aunt Debi in Benicia. It was great to get away and relax. Friday we spent the day with Lindsay and Jaylin just hanging out around Benicia. We had dinner at Venticello's with seats out on the sidewalk. Jaylin couldn't sit down to eat. She was too interested in the belly dancers next door. Saturday we went into the city. We went down Lombard Street and stopped at Fisherman's Wharf for lunch and some sourdough bread. The on to the three-story Shoe Pavilion for some shopping. It was hard not to walk out with three or four pairs of shoes, I was able to narrow it down to just two pairs. One for me and one for Justin. By the time we headed back to Benicia the fog had come back in so I thought we weren't going to get any pictures of the Golden Gate Bridge. Luckily it wasn't as bad as it had been in the morning and we were able to get a few shots. The only thing we missed out on was a Giants game. They were out of town for the weekend. Next time we'll have to make sure they're in town before we plan our spur-of-the-moment trip.

Welcome Friends and Family

Okay, we've done it.....we've created a blog. It all started with en email from Kara Pothier saying they'd joined the blogging world. I've really enjoyed checking Kara's blog every few days, getting updates on their little family and seeing new pictures of Hallie (and Josh Groban). So here it is....the Law Family blog.
