What's Next...

We're getting started on our next adventure in life--no we're not pregnant--but we are in the process of becoming foster parents. We're only looking at taking in ages 0-5 years and up to two at a time (only if they are siblings, and same sex--since they will be sharing a room). We complete our PRIDE class on November 21st and then just have our home inspection left before we get our license...Wish us luck...I'm sure there will be some fun blog posts once we get started!!

Halloween at the Office...

Every year at work we have a little costume and decorating contest. This year the Rates and Lead agents got together and decorated like a pirate ship, and the island where the treasure is buried.
This is Jason...Our main pirate ship builder

And the rest of the Rates/Lead pirates...for the record, I did not dress up. I was looking for an old high school jersey or sweatshirt that said pirates on it to cheat, but didn't even get that done...I know, lame!
Everyone brings they're kids in on Halloween to trick-or-treat up and down the rows. The kids love going from agent to agent, getting mounds of candy! Everly just turned a year old this month and she was the cutest skunk I've EVER seen...I told Abby (her mom) if she was going to get rid of the costume, I wanted it!

I have to include the shot of the little heart on the bum of the costume

Since it was a holiday and super slow at work, I was able to get off 3 hours early...YAHOO! So we finished our Halloween at our friends Jared and Jacque's where we had dinner, cupcakes and watched a movie!

Trick or Treat!!

I went out in the garage on Friday morning to find that our house decided it was time for a TRICK instead of a TREAT on this Halloween morning. I heard drip......drip......drip and knew it couldn't be good.

I found a leak on the incoming water line for the water heater.

It was obviously leaking for a while because the wood below was soaked.

Time to call Dad to the rescue!!
Dad removed the leaking valve.

Luckily, the part was only $8.99 and Dad threw in the labor for free.

I am very grateful for a father who can fix things and is willing to drop what he is doing to help out. He was more than willing to turn this TRICK into a TREAT so we could enjoy the rest of the day.

Our New Fish...

One night last week Justin found a free 10 gallon tank on craig's list and decided he needed it (why...I have no clue!) With his new tank came the biggest "sucker" fish I have ever seen! I've been trying to get a picture of it that would really show how big he was, thus the Finding Nemo DVD in the picture. He's at least 4-times longer than all of our other fish.

New Calling...

Our ward split, again, (2nd time in 5 years) about a month ago and we are back into the Middleton 4th ward. I have been thoroughly enjoying my time being calling-less (I'm sure that's not a word), but I knew it was too good to last too long. Last night I got "the call" from the first counselor in the bishopric asking me to meet him at 1030am this morning...I'm sure he's not aware that I'm usually not up at 1030am let alone dressed for the day, but I suffered through getting up early. Justin was speculating last night on what it may be and suggested ward choir director...my response...oh no! He was only half right, I'm the new ward chorister. We'll see just how effective that conducting class I took in college really is!
